Smart AgriTech for Precision and Sustainability – SAfPS
I. Objectives
The Smart AgriTech for Precision and Sustainability (SAfPS) Special Session aims to explore cutting-edge intelligent technologies that are transforming agriculture into a more productive, sustainable, resilient, and data-driven sector. As global agriculture faces increasing challenges related to climate change, resource scarcity, food security, labor shortages, and environmental protection, innovative digital solutions are becoming essential for the future of farming.
This session brings together researchers, practitioners, technology developers, and industry representatives working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, computer vision, data analytics, cyber-physical systems, and digital agriculture. The goal is to foster interdisciplinary discussions on emerging methods, tools, and real-world applications that support precision farming and sustainable agricultural management.
Particular attention will be given to intelligent systems capable of optimizing agricultural operations through real-time monitoring, predictive modeling, autonomous decision-making, and advanced sensing technologies. Contributions addressing crop production, livestock management, agri-food supply chains, environmental monitoring, and resource-efficient farming practices are especially encouraged.
The session seeks to showcase innovative research and practical implementations that improve productivity while reducing environmental impact, promoting efficient use of water, energy, fertilizers, and other critical resources. It also welcomes studies addressing farm digitalization, climate-smart agriculture, agricultural resilience, and the integration of advanced computational techniques into modern farming ecosystems.
By bringing together experts from computer science, engineering, environmental sciences, agricultural sciences, and industry, SAfPS aims to create a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration that advances sustainable and intelligent agricultural systems worldwide.
